Corner View~Street Photography

Recently, we went upcountry. My mom let me borrow her camera so I could take some pictures for corner view, and these are my favorite pictures. The one in the middle with Shawn in it is a picture of the inside of a store that had a lot of statues of things from different cultures. I thought it would be cool to take a picture of Buddha.

I really want to get my own camera and I'm planning to.

Chess

Just recently, I've gotten really into chess. I've joined the chess club (which I have today). I play online a lot in my free time (since there's no one in my family that plays that much). And just recently, I found this thing online called ChessKIDS academy. It has lessons where you learn how to become a good chess player step by step (so even if you don't even know how to play at all, it shows you).

Uncle and Aunt

My uncle Tim and Aunt Eileen won free tickets to where we live for a week! I'm happy that they're visiting. We travel every summer but we hadn't seen them for two years! They're not staying in our house but we're planning to all go out to dinner one night to fancy restaurant! I'm so glad that they could come!

Corner View~Wisdom From an Elder

Someone who has helped me grow in life is my dad. He taught me music (which is kind of like wisdom). He taught me that music is like an open book, its pages call to you. You can choose to start it, or not. And once you start it, you can't put it down. It's always a part of you.

I used to worry sometimes about some things. And when I came to him, this is what he would tell me. "Annabel, don't let your mind control you. You talk to your mind, and you tell it to back off!" It really helped me to feel more at peace with myself to do this because I didn't worry as much.
Anyway, thanks for picking this weeks corner view theme, mom.

Just 'Cause I Feel Like Posting

     Hi people. Valentines Day was yesterday. I made my dad a card and he said he really liked it. I like donuts. Percy Jackson books rock. I like drawing. I like ice cream. I'm supposed to be doing my homework. I like chocolate chip cookies. I like video games. I like s'mores. I like chess. I like nutella. Don't think I can't talk in complete sentences just because I haven't been. Bye!

Cool Movie

     Yesterday, we saw the Percy Jackson movie! It was a total action packed adventure. They changed it around from the book a lot, but it was still really good. It was the best movie ever. As you probably already know, I'm the #1 fan of the book series and have just been counting down the days until this movie came out. It rocked, and I hope they make a second one. P.S. Today's Valentines Day!

Bored

     I'm bored. I have nothing to do so I'm blogging. I have no books to read and my mom is putting Shawn to bed. Skylar is reading diary of a wimpy kid book #4: Dog Days. I got it for my birthday but I already finished it. Well, I'm going to go see if my dad is free to play cards or something. Bye.

I'm an 11-year-old preteen

     My birthday is in 5 days! I'm going to be 11! My party is going to be the day after my real birthday. It's on a weekend.
     One of the things that my parents are going to get me for my birthday is a cartridge for my Nintendo D.S. called Drawn to Life. It's this really neat game where you get to draw your own character and weapon. Then you play in levels and collect coins and stuff. If your wondering how I know so much about the game, it's because my sister, Skylar, has it. It only has one file though. That's why she can't share it with me. Anyway, I'm really exited for the party and the real birthday!
